This Is Me

I have a friend who wears black, regardless of season or event. A part of me envies her clarity of style. Even her black glasses are cool.

That’s not me. Open my closet, and I’ve got bohemian skirts to tailored shirts, slouchy sweaters to spandex sportswear. It’s both challenging and freeing to open that door and know I can be whoever I want to be that day.

When I hear music, I see choreography. When I read about a new government policy, I consider whether it is constitutional. Sometimes, I imagine how I might work in some tkd moves against an imaginary opponent. And of course, deconstructing arguments is just fun.

But mostly, I think a lot about people. What motivates us. What scares us. What connects us. This is what I’ll write about – from the perspective of mom/homeschool teacher/dancer/lawyer/coach.

Thanks for reading – and drop me a line if you’re so inclined.

PS A ham & cheese sandwich in Spain & Latin America, “mixto” also refers to anything mixed like my heritage. “Vida” means life (or even, a biography).

VidaMixta is my eclectic life philosophies and ramblings.
